On Monday, March 17, 2008 at 6:00 p.m., the New York County Lawyers' Association (NYCLA) will present Geraldine A. Ferraro with the Edith I. Spivack Award. Ms. Ferraro, attorney, Democratic politician, and former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, is best known as the first and only woman to date to represent a major U.S. political party as a candidate for Vice President (in the 1984 election). Ms. Ferraro was later appointed ambassador to the U.N.'s Human Rights Committee and is currently a businesswoman.

Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney will present Ms. Ferraro with the award, and both will speak on the subject of women in politics.
